Secretary García Hosts Community Conversation
In Moriarty on October 26, 2005
[Albuquerque] – On Wednesday, October 26,
2005, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, New Mexico Education Secretary Veronica C. García
will host a “Community Conversation on Closing the Achievement Gap” in Moriarty
in the multi-purpose room of Edgewood Middle School.
“Since April of last year, I
have held 13 community conversations across New Mexico. These conversations have reinforced my belief
in the power of conversation and the ability of the community to find lasting
solutions,” Secretary García said, “Closing the achievement gap and raising
expectations for all of New Mexico’s students are both key components of our
education reform initiative. I look
forward to talking with and listening to the people of Moriarty as we discuss
the issues on Wednesday night.”
Parents, teachers, students and
members of the Moriarty community are invited to attend and participate in the
discussion. For more information on
upcoming Community Conversations, please call the New Mexico Public Education
