La Cosecha Dual Language Conference to be Held November 9th-12th
in Albuquerque
(Albuquerque, NM)—
The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) will join with Dual Language
Education of New Mexico, an educational non-profit organization, at a dual
language conference being held November 9th-November 12th,
2005 at Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town, (formerly the Sheraton Old
Town.) Now, in its tenth year, the La Cosecha conference will provide attendees
with professional development and inspirational keynote addresses by some of
the nation’s experts on bilingual education.

“Over 1100 Dual
Language educators, parents, and students will be participating in this
conference. Dual Language programs have
successfully been implemented in over fifty elementary, middle and high schools
in New Mexico.
I am proud to be speaking at this conference which celebrates and underscores
the importance of Bilingual Education programs in New Mexico’s public schools,” said Secretary
Veronica C. García.
