Lieutenant Governor Denish, Secretary Bolson and
Secretary Garcia to Tour Pre-K Facility in Albuquerque

(Santa Fe, NM)--On Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Lieutenant Governor Diane Denish, Secretary Dale Bolson of Children Youth and Families Department and Secretary Veronica C. Garcia of the Public Education Department will tour A Child's Garden, a nationally accredited early childhood program. A Child's Garden was founded in 1971, as a non-sectarian community outreach of the First Presbyterian Church.

The Lt. Governor, Secretary Bolson and Secretary García have been partnering to jointly develop the Statewide Pre-K initiative that Governor Richardson has indicated will be a high priority during the upcoming legislative session. The initiative is a voluntary program that will increase access to high quality pre-kindergarten for four-year-olds in New Mexico.

The schedule for January 12, 2005 is as follows:

11:00 am – 12:00 pm Tour followed by one-on-one interviews
