PRE-K PROPOSAL WORKSHOP TO BE HELD APRIL 14th at TVI

(Santa Fe, NM)— Secretary Veronica C. García, of the Public Education Department, and Secretary Mary-Dale Bolson, of the Children Youth and Families Department, announced today that a PreK Pre-Proposal Workshop will be held in Albuquerque on Thursday, April 14, 2005 from 9:30 am–3:00 pm at TVI’s Smith Brasher Hall (717 University SE, corner of Coal & University–see attachment). Attendance at the April 14th PreK Pre-proposal Workshop is not required. The Request for Proposals will provide complete instructions about what is needed to submit a PreK proposal.

The PreK Request For Proposals (RFP) will be released on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 via posting on the PED and the CYFD websites (www.ped.state.nm.us and www.cyfd.org) and notification letters sent to CYFD licensed providers, Local Education Agencies, Regional Educational Cooperatives, Charter Schools and Tribes.

This pre-proposal workshop, for both public school districts and private childcare providers, is a collaborative effort by the Public Education Department and the Children Youth and Families Department. The meeting will include a review of the PreK RFP and provide guidance and technical assistance on the PreK application process.
