Education Secretary Garcia to Visit Chama Schools,
Dulce, Jemez Mountain and Mesa Vista School Staff

(Santa Fe, NM)—Secretary of Education Dr. Veronica C. García will tour five Chama-area schools on Friday, September 24, as part of her community engagement initiative. Accompanying her will be Assistant Secretary for Rural Education Charles Hayes and Manuel F. Valdez, superintendent of the Chama Valley Independent Schools.

Prior to her visits, Secretary Dr. García will appear on radio station KZRM-FM, located at 95.9 FM, from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. on the Scott Flury Morning Show.

Secretary Garcia will tour five schools, as follows:

8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Escalante High School, located in Tierra Amarilla on State Road 531 West

9:40 to 10:40 a.m.
Tierra Amarilla Middle, located in Tierra Amarilla on State Road 531 West

11:00 a.m. to Noon
Tierra Amarilla Elementary, located in Tierra Amarilla on State Road 531 East

1:15 to 2:00 p.m.
Chama Elementary, located in Chama at 182 No. Pine
Chama Middle, located in Chama at 181 No. Pine

From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Secretary Dr. García will meet with staff from the Chama, Dulce, Jemez Mountain and Mesa Vista schools at Tierra Amarilla Elementary. At the meeting, Secretary Dr. García will participate in a question and answer session.
