Public Education Department’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Special Education Bureau Team Up for Smooth Transitions

(Santa Fe, NM)-The New Mexico Public Education Department, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Special Education Bureau are teaming up to ensure that local districts provide a coordinated set of transition activities for students receiving special education services. The goals of these transition activities are to facilitate smooth transitions for New Mexico’s special education students moving from secondary education to post-secondary education, training, employment and independent living. The Special Education Bureau and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation will be facilitating six regional planning workshops tailored to the needs of the local communities and schools. Following are the dates, times, and cites for each regional workshop:
