| Governor Bill Richardson to highlight
education agenda SANTA FE- Governor Bill Richardson will outline his education agenda for the 2005 legislative session during visits to eight New Mexico communities on Wednesday and Thursday. Governor Richardson will announce a responsible plan for expanding the popular Lottery Scholarship program. He will also highlight several other initiatives meant to improve New Mexico’s higher education system, including a plan to link state funding to graduating more students. Governor Richardson will also unveil new initiatives that will build on efforts to improve New Mexico’s public schools- so students are prepared to succeed in college. The Governor will discuss ideas for getting high-quality teachers into struggling schools, tackle health and obesity in schools, and propose new ideas to help charter schools and home school students.
