Of Governor's Laptop Learning Initiative in Albuquerque

SANTA FE- Governor Bill Richardson will speak about the importance of technology in the classroom on Wednesday in Albuquerque as he helps kick off the next round of the Governor's Laptop Learning Initiative.

Governor Richardson spearheaded the initiative, which this year includes $4 million for 2,884 laptop computers for New Mexico 7th-graders, including students at Polk Middle School and Southwest Learning Center - both in Albuquerque.

The Governor will speak at a training session being held in Albuquerque for recipients of the laptop computers. The Governor is scheduled to speak Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the TVI Workforce Training Center, 5600 Eagle Rock Ave., N.E., in Albuquerque.
