SBE Announces Public Hearing on Textbook Adoption
(Santa Fe, NM)-- The New Mexico State Board of Education's (SBE) Instructional Services Interest Committee will hold a public hearing on textbooks and other instructional materials submitted by publishers for use beginning next year in New Mexico's schools on Tuesday, September 30, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the New Mexico State Department of Education (SDE), Mabry Hall, located at 300 Don Gaspar in Santa Fe. This year's state adoption of instructional materials by the SBE covers Language Arts.
Individuals with a disability in need of a reader, amplifier, qualified sign language interpreter or any other form of auxiliary aid or service to attend or participate in the hearing should contact Rose Marie Sherman at the SDE at (505) 827-6414 by September 25.
The public is encouraged to submit written comments on a hearing form by September 26 to the Instructional Materials Bureau. Forms can be obtained by contacting the bureau at 827-6414 or 300 Don Gaspar, Room G-12A, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
Samples of materials submitted for adoption are available for review at the regional centers listed below as follows:
