Agenda for Public School Ratings Media Briefing
On Monday, October 7, 1:00 PM, in Santa Fe
(Santa Fe, NM)-The New Mexico State Department of Education (SDE)
will hold a media briefing (To
view the complete script click here) on Monday, October 7, at
1:00 p.m., at the SDE, Mabry Hall, located at 300 Don Gaspar in
Santa Fe, to release the 2002-2003 ratings of New Mexico's public
schools.
Ratings for 682 of New Mexico's 764 public schools will be released
at the briefing. SDE staff will be available to answer technical
questions regarding the methodology used to determine the ratings
and other questions. In addition, State Superintendent of Public
Instruction Michael J. Davis will provide an update on the state's
corrective action process.

State Superintendent Davis will be joined by Patricia Rael, the
SDE's retiring assistant superintendent of accountability and information
services, and Dr. Mel Morgan, who joined the SDE on October 1 as
the new assistant superintendent.
"This is an opportunity for members of the media to explore
their questions on the ratings and the state's accountability efforts
with our experts," said State Superintendent Davis.
