Agenda for News Conference on School Governance,
Honoring Schools, TODAY at State Capitol

(Santa Fe, NM)-The New Mexico State Department of Education (SDE) and New Mexico Coalition of School Administrators (NMCSA) will hold a news conference on Wednesday, February 6, from noon to 12:30 p.m., at the state Capitol, in Room 318. At the news conference, the New Mexico State Board of Education (SBE) will honor four public schools removed from school improvement in October 2001 and address proposals pending before the Legislature to change the state's system of public school governance.

The four schools to be recognized are: Coronado High, with the Jemez Mountain Public Schools in Gallina, Jemez Valley Elementary, with the Jemez Valley Municipal Schools in Jemez Pueblo, Salazar Elementary, with the Santa Fe Public Schools in Santa Fe, and West Las Vegas High, with the West Las Vegas Public Schools in Las Vegas.
