(Santa Fe, NM)-The New Mexico State Department of Education (SDE) is seeking applicants for the 2003-2004 Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program. The federally funded program provides $1,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors from either a public or private high school who plan to attend college. Minimum eligibility requirements are a 3.5 grade point average and either a score of 27 on the ACT or 1220 on the SAT. The scholarships are awarded regionally throughout New Mexico to ensure equity of access to all students.
