SDE Announces Seven National Board-Certified Teachers

(Santa Fe, NM)-The New Mexico State Department of Education (SDE) announced today that seven teachers in New Mexico received certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards® in 2002. This brings the number of National Board-certified teachers in New Mexico to 107.

The teachers are: Ulrike Kerstges, Jane McIntyre and Jane Avon-Yessak from the Albuquerque Public Schools, Lynn Birch from the Clovis Municipal Schools and Denise Cannon, Suzanne McCarty and Valerie Omerigic from the Los Lunas Public Schools.

Davis.

The National Board is dedicated to identifying and recognizing accomplished teaching in New Mexico and encourages and sustains continued professional growth among teachers, contributes to the support of a respected and responsible teaching profession and contributes to the successful education of all students
