These EGBEs establish pedagogical and assessment expectations for students with significant cognitive disabilities and form the foundation for our alternate assessment, the New Mexico Alternate Performance Assessment (NMAPA).

They are to be used to develop goals and objectives for students with significant cognitive disabilities in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development process.

Reading

Note: New EGBEs have been bolded for the gradebands that will be assessed for AYP for the 2009-2010 school year. Those are gradebands 3 - 8 and 11. The social studies EGBEs for gradebands 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 have not changed. Gradeband  11 - 12 EGBEs have been bolded and posted for those students who are re-taking the Alternate Assessment for High School Competency Exam. The EGBEs for all content areas for grade band 9-10 have not changed.
